Dad Who Killed Pedophile Friend For Raping His Daughter Has Charges Dropped After Public Outcry

A father who is said to have stabbed his former friend to death after discovering that the man was a pedophile and had raped his own daughter has been cleared of all charges, The Sun reports. Vyacheslav M, 34, reportedly found videos of the abuse Oleg Sviridov, 32, inflicted on his daughter on the man’s phone and went to confront him. In the end, he allegedly killed Sviridov in a fight and was arrested soon after. However, the people of Russia have been calling for his release ever since, believing him to be a hero rather than a murderer. Now, it seems that the authorities have listened to the outcry.

A murder investigation was launched shortly after Sviridov’s death. While the 34-year-old was released on bail, police continued looking into the case and were considering charging Vyacheslav M with murder for the death. For many months, the outcome remained unclear… until this week.

Police decided to drop any potential charges against him. The landmark decision means that Vyacheslav M won’t be charged with murder. However, he’s not getting off entirely scot-free. Instead, the former rocket engine factory worker will now face prosecution for allegedly inciting Sviridov to take his own life.

Vyacheslav M has always denied murder. He’s never accepted the charges against him and is reportedly “pleased” that he faces much less time behind bars if convicted of this lesser charge. Not only that, but he’ll no longer have to wear an electronic tag as he waits for a trial date later this year.

Evidence has reportedly exonerated him. According to sources close to the case, there’s “detailed forensic evidence” which proves Vyacheslav didn’t stab Sviridov to death, though it’s unclear how he ended up dead in the forest where his body was found.

Locals are more than pleased with the latest developments. More than 2,500 people signed a petition for Vyacheslav M to be fully acquitted, with signers applauding him for “saving our children by ridding us of a child sex attacker.”
