– Arsene Wenger has expressed his doubts on Manchester City title challenge

– He believes that the Etihad giants do not have what it takes to match his unbeaten record

– Wenger also called out referee Micheal Oliver’s judgement

Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger has delivered an incredible put down to Premier League leaders Manchester City while questioning referee Michael Oliver’s judgement.

Despite losing 3-1 at the Etihad just eight days ago, Wenger insists City are not that special and cast major doubt about Pep Guardiola’s side being able to emulate Arsenal’s Invincibles who went unbeaten to win the title in 2004.

Gunners boss Wenger, in an interview with beIN Sports, also felt Arsenal were cheated against City and branded referee Michael Oliver “atrocious” after two controversial decisions.

Wenger said: “I think they are a good side but they are not an unstoppable side.

“If you look at the expected goals, it was 0.7 for them and 0.6 for us, it was a very tight game, they created very little, had very little number of shots on target, one more than us, that’s all.

“Overall, I think we were hugely punished with the goal. At 2-1 we were in the game. I don’t dispute they are a good side, but not an unstoppable side.

“The referee had an absolutely atrocious input into the result of the game.

“People always want to predict what will happen in the game. I don’t know more more than you, maybe, maybe not. But at the moment only one team has done it.”

IAMSTARCODED.COM reported earlier that Arsenal are closing in on a deal worth for Lyon star Nabil Fekir as the contracts of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are yet to be renegotiated.
